After a career teaching at the Christian Academy in Japan, Don & Janet are the hosts & managers at Yamanaka Chalet. Janet taught first grade and Don was a music teacher, directing the bands for grades 5 - 12. They have had lots of experience working at Christian camps and met while working as wilderness guides, taking youth groups on back country trips into remote parts of northern Minnesota (US) and southern Ontario (Canada).

They have worked at CAJ since the 1988, and also spent 4 years in the Philippines. Their many years in ministry in Japan have equipped them to be encouragers of the guests who come to YC for rest and renewal in Christ.
